Does your toddler hit you or has your child ever hit you? 

It doesn’t make your child bad, and it doesn’t make you a bad parent. But maybe your child is a bit young and he or she hasn’t hit you yet. Expect that eventually it will happen. 

Maybe you’re thinking, “No way. Not my precious sweet baby. She’ll never hit me.” Listen, it’s likely to happen, and it’s okay. Why? Because children are constantly growing and learning and figuring their little worlds out, and hitting is just a typical toddler and child behavior that gets thrown into the mix. 

But that doesn’t mean it has to last long, it doesn’t mean it has to continue, and it doesn’t mean that you just let it happen. However, if you respond in a way that encourages the behavior, you’ll likely see it happen again and again and then it’s a bigger problem for you to deal with.
